Notes: (Richard Snyder is the famous "Man on the Wing" in 100th history. He exited the doomed Escape Kit through a hole in the fuselage, reached back in for his chute, strapped it on while standing in the fire on the wing and went off the trailing edge of the wing. He was thought to have struck the horizontal stabilizer, never the less his chute did open and he was found three months later hanging in a tree by the Germans. The exact time and cause of his death is unknown. Some historians report that he jumped without a chute or that his chute did not open - this not the case. This event was witnessed by several surviving 100th veterans, among them the legendary 100th pilot Owen D. "Cowboy" Roane -- paul west
