Base: Thorpe Abbotts, Norfolk, England
Crash: Destroyed by flak, hits between No. 3 engine and the fuselage immediately after bombs away. The aircraft crashed in a harvest field near the target. The aircraft exploded over the Foret de Neudon near Clamart. Six of the crew bailed out. All KIAs were initially buried in the R.C. Cemetery at Clamart. At the end of hostilities they were re-interred in the US Military Cemetery Solers/Melun. Only Lt. Aske was immediately identified and interred at Solers in Plot F-6-101. The other three KIAs were buried as Unknowns X-62, 63 and 64 in F-6-104/106. All were later identified by Graves Registration Units.
