Crash: Crashed on return; this A/C and #42-31987, belonging to the 350th Squadron, were involved in the famous "Piggy Back" incident. They collided over the North Sea near the island of Wangerooge, Germany. The two aircraft , still attached to each other, were turned back east by the control inputs of the top plane and crashed on land near Tetten, District Jever, Germany. The casualties were buried in the cemetery at Wesermunde-Geestermunde and move to Margraten on December 14th, 1945.
