Base: Thorpe Abbotts, Norfolk, England

Crash: Crashed Hamburg-Finkenwaerder in the Free Port Dradenau. Collided with 42-31066, piloted by Floyd E. Henderson, after being hit by flak and both aircraft were destroyed. According to German reports T/Sgt McGinley was buried in the communal cemetery of Hamburg-Finkenwaerder. The casualties were interred in adjoining graves at the families request. A German report, attached to the MACR, states that Carpenter was the pilot of a P-51 that crashed at 1200 hours into the Muehlenwaerder Gartenkolonie, Hamburg Harbor. Only fragments were found and they were buried at location found. This report appears to have no connect to the MACR 11363 and this is almost certainly not S/Sgt Lee F. Carpenter of this crew.
