Crash: Flak knocked the No.# 3 engine from the wing. The aircraft nosed up out of the formation, leveled off, then entered a steep decent. At the Rally Point the pilot was heard on VHF that No.#4 engine propeller was running away and was attempting to reach the Russian lines. Aircraft was under control and was being escorted by Allied fighters. The Tail Gunner bailed out and was captured. The remaining eight crewmen perished.
