Crash: Reputedly shot down by a FW-190 piloted by Hauptman Walter Hoeckner near Hohenholte - west of Munster. Hoeckner was also hit and bailed out - he watched the nose of 42-3082 break into two sections. It is likely Hoeckner was shot down by S/Sgt Gratzfeld, who was killed.
