Notes: S/Sgt Orta and Major Ralph Hansel of the 390th Bomb Group were recovered from the North Sea the same day by the German rescue ship "Hamburg" at around 1400 hours. S/Sgt Orta was buried as an Unknown in the cemetery on Langeoog and was identified after the war and re-interred in Ardennes Plot L-1-22. He was later returned to his native Texas at the request of his family for Final Internment.
