We have engaged a renowned exhibit design firm to develop concepts for a remarkable experience that encompasses 10,000 square feet of interactive exhibit space as well as a state-of-the-art “4-D” immersive theater experience located inside a replica of the 100th BG’s wartime control tower at Thorpe Abbotts Air Station 139. The first phase of this expansion coincides with the Mighty Eighth Museum’s efforts to greatly extend its overall offerings and footprint through its own fundraising efforts.
Courage in the Skies will maintain a keen focus on the 100th Bomb Group while integrating with surrounding exhibits—including the Museum’s beautifully restored B-17—to tell a comprehensive story the entire 8th Air Force’s critical role in liberating Nazi-occupied Europe.
