COMMENTS = My father Harold L. Heyneman passed away on March 28, 2002 and I have found the mission list for the Clement H. Cowan crew as written by my father and Lieutenant Hank Dibbern, co-pilot on the crew. My father, Lieutenant Harold L. Heyneman was the bombardier on the crew. All the missions listed were flown with Cowan as the pilot until April 29, 1944 when the crew flew with Wilson as pilot then Lunsford and later Trapnell.

THE ERROR I AM REPORTING IS OF THE LT. CLEMENT H. COWAN CREW OF THE 349TH SQUADRON PAGE 4, 17TH PICTURE DOWN THE PAGE. THE PHOTOGRAPH OF LT. CLEMENT H. COWAN CREW IS INCORRECT. COMMENTS = On your crews page, you make note that you only list crew records of the pilots. My father LT. Harold L. Heyneman 349th squadron, Lt. Cowan crew (BOM)told me he flew with many different crews after his Augsburg raid of March 16, 1944 when his radio operator was killed and he never saw Lt.Cowan again after they landed at Thorpe Abbotts. He had been injured (flak). Would you have any additional information concerning my father that is not listed, such as missions, date he completed his missions or anything of regarding his service at Thorpe Abbotts. Thank You

COMMENTS = Does anyone have any info on the whereabouts of Clement Cowan of Georgia? My uncle, Sonny Kemble, was tailgunner on his AC, "Sparky" when Sparky Meyers was KIA in March 1944. Hi Pete, Clement Cowan passed away on March 18, 1997. Pete, can your Uncle or Family help us? We need a Mission list for this Crew and any other photos of the Crew or Uncle you may have during his time in 100th BG? Do you think your can help? Thanks,Michael Faley100th Bomb Group Photo Archives12400 Ventura Blvd#113Studio City, CA 91604 Thanks for the info. It saddens me to hear of his death. My uncle told me that Clement Cowan was never the same after Sherwyn Meyers death, that he felt responsible because he didn't bring all of his men back. My uncle tried to locate him but to no avail. I made a shadow box for my uncle and I had help from Cowboy Roane and Jan Riddling of Arkansas. She sent me a list of my uncle's missions so he should still have the list. He also has a photo of the crew in training in the US before deploying to England. That photo is on the web site. I'll get ahold of my uncle and get you what picture I can. Thanks so much for the info. Another aside, I met the Cowboy late in 1997. He helped me with the info I needed to make my uncle's shadow box. Met with him for two hours or so. A brother of his had recently died and Col. Roane gave me some of the medals and devices that I used in my uncle's shadow box. What a thrill to meet the "Cowboy" after I had read so much about him in "Story of the Century". I must have read that book 10 times as a young boy.
His full name is Horace Ray Kemble, 87 also goes by aka H.Sonny Kemble.also H.S. KEMBLE in the phone directory
