Search This Site

This site uses two separate and distinctly different search engines.

The site search at the top of each main page searches articles, photos, videos, crew information pages, etc. The site search does not search the database. Use the site search to find general information that is not included in the database.

The database search in the database section of the website searches only database records. This database search engine uses powerful filters that allow you to narrow your search to a specific person, airplane, mission, crew, MACR, casualty report, etc. Use the database search to find specific and detailed records.

Our speaker for the PSAM Mini-Reunion museum day on February 9, 2019 will be Greg Stathatos , B-17 Archaeology founder.  Greg has devoted himself to doing in-depth studies on remaining B-17’s, starting when his eldest son was two years old and asked him “what did that plane do”.  This began his long journey into the legendary B-17 and how it got its nickname “Flying Fortress”.  Greg’s passion for the B-17 has led him to study them extensively and interview the airmen who served on them.  He has many fascinating stories to share about the survival and rescue of these aircraft and has been an important part of many of their restorations.  B-17 Archaeology started off just telling the stories of the surviving B-17’s, but has turned into so much more. Greg  has made so many friends who share his passion and have a love for the B-17 and her role in a world in conflict.  Today there are 51 B-17’s left in the world out of the 12,731 that were built.  Please join us in hearing his passionate stories about the famous “Flying Fortress” on February 9, 2019 at the Palm Springs Air Museum.
