S/Sgt Will Felch
Missing Photo
Uniform group of two war veteran Will P. Felch.Felch enlisted in 1917 and arrived in France Jan, 1918 with Company C 23rd Engineer Regiment. This unit was in the St. Mihel sector during the offensive there and remained building roads. I actually have gone through a copy of the rare WWI Company C history and there is a photo of Felch in uniform standing next to a steamroller which he was assigned to operate. He is also mentioned several times in the same book as it relates to various unit stories during the war. He returned from France in 1919. During WWII Felch enlisted 1942 and served as an airplane engine mechanic. Transferred overseas to England in 1943 and assigned to the 838th Air Engineering Squadron at Thorpes Abbots. Home of 'The Bloody 100th' Bomb Group. He returned Stateside in 1945 and discharged.
