No definite information concerning the loss of this A/C is available. The leader of the squadron was knocked out of the formation before the target by flak. The formation fell apart and all A/C became stragglers. It is assumed that this A/C was the victim of enemy fighters that attacked stragglers at 10:20 -- 10:40 hours near 5112N - 1140E. The author of this report is unknown (pw)
No DataCrew joined the 100th Group on 25 Jun 43. Crew was on 22nd Misslon. On 29/7/44, F/O Kincade is listed as navigator and S/Sgt Marcena F. Dottoviano listed as bombardier. And was a KIA. He was not a regular crew member. Records indicate S/Sgt Dottoviano was an original ground crew member having gone overseas with the Original 100th group. The carl g.gustafson crew's aircraft was named The Liberty Belle with b.g.cannon as the crew chief the nose art was the liberty belle with a shapely blond standing by it Robert Fife
