| A/C 42-38161 was attacked by enemy aircraft causing the aircraft to go out of control. Pilot of the aircraft called on VHF at 1455 hours and gave his position as 5025N - 0420E, stating that he had 75 gallons of fuel left and would attempt to land near Paris, France. He made a crash landing and the aircraft was salvaged in France. T/Sgt Terry bailed out at the time of the attack, S/Sgt Carl was injured by 20mm and taken to a hospital in Paris. The rest of the crew returned to Station #139, 21 September 1944. |
