The wedding of Capt. Woodrow McGill and Adriel Rose Jacobs on January 25, 1945. The cast on McGill's leg was as a result of the injury he sustained during the mission on September 10, 1944. What was initially thought to be a less severe injury ultimately resulted in McGill receiving a bone graft held in place by two screws, and he was in and out of Brooke Army Hospital at Ft. Sam Houston for 18 months. The medical personnel let him out for the wedding, though the injury caused lifelong discomfort (photo courtesy of Carolyn McGill Hoelscher).
