Crash: Damaged by flak at the target. The aircraft returned under fighter escort but was forced to ditch in North Sea north of Ameland Island. The waist gunner was seriously injured and unconscious as a result of flak wounds to the abdomen and left leg. He could not be gotten out of the rapidly sinking ship. The remaining crewmember drifted ashore in the plane's two life rafts. They were immediately taken prisoner by the German Garrison.
