Courage in the Skies: The Bloody Hundredth

Did you know?

The 100th Bomb Group, otherwise known as “The Bloody Hundredth,” earned its name for suffering a string of significant losses in just a handful of fraught and furious missions.

Are you aware?

Their story is currently being told in an exciting limited series, “Masters of the Air” on Apple TV+, produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg.

Will you join us?

Only a handful of surviving veterans remain from the group, each of whom has shared his own remarkable wartime experience.  For them and the men they fought beside, these stories need to continue being told.

Help us create a world-class showcase of 100th history…

The 100th Bomb Group Foundation is raising funds for a multi-phase, major redesign and expansion of our current space at the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force near Savannah, Georgia. With the release of Masters of the Air on Apple TV+, public interest in the group’s actual history has climbed to unprecedented levels. In response, the Foundation has accelerated fundraising for a major new project called “Courage in the Skies: The Bloody Hundredth.”  The project is designed in formats that appeal to young and old alike—through comprehensive, engaging story-telling and a combination of world-class technology and genuine artifacts in an immersive experience. The first phase of this expansion coincides with the Mighty Eighth Museum’s efforts to greatly extend its overall offerings and footprint through its own fundraising efforts.
