Seymour Cutler, 87 years old, of Millburn, N.J., passed peacefully on March 4, 2012, at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, N.J., surrounded by his loving family. A graveside service is scheduled for today, Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin, N.J. Arrangements are by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, 2950 Vaux Hall Rd., Union, N.J. Seymour was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and resided in the Bronx, N.Y., as well as Newark, N.J., before moving to Millburn, N.J. He was married in 1949 to his beloved wife of 62 years, Clarice Lasky. Seymour served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He was a private first class, military policeman and was in the 351st Bombardment Squadron 100th Bombardment Group. He was an optician and attended the Optomic Dispenser, where he obtained his professional license to practice Optometry in 1948. He worked for Test Rite Optical in Newark, N.J., for 27 years and then for Pearl Vision Center, which he purchased and operated for approximately 21 years, from which he retired in 1996. Seymour was also a maitre d' and head waiter at the Short Hills Caterers for 20 years. He was also a dedicated and proud volunteer at Saint Barnabas Medical Center for 15 years up until a week before he passed. In addition to being survived by his loving wife, Clarice, Seymour is also survived by his daughter, Patti Weiss and her husband, Gerald Weiss, and his son, Michael Cutler, and his wife, Lisa Cutler. Seymour was the proud grandfather of David Weiss and his wife, Melissa, Steven Weiss and his wife, Jennifer, and Jessica Cutler, as well as great-grandfather of Emma Rose Weiss and Robyn Leigh Weiss. He is also survived by a brother, Jack Cutler.
