Dear M.P. Faley and Jan Riddling,



My father Bob Jones was in the Army Air Corp. during WWII and was stationed in England. (418 Squadron 100 Bomb Group (H)AAF) I have a group photo taken during his tour of duty in England with the names of all in the photo.  My father was a radio technician.  I also have several photos he took when they were flying missions, of the damaged planes at his air field, various other photos while he was in England, and post cards from England which he sent to my Mother.  My father was drafted when he was 35 years old and this year he would have celebrated his 100th birthday.  (I am sure some of the guys in the group photo were much younger than my Dad.)  My Dad didn't talk to much about the war but he did have fond memories of the English people and what they had to endure.  I also have a group photo taken at the Air Force Technical School at the Boca Raton Field, Florida on December 19, 1942.   I feel that it would be benefincial to preserve this information and would gladly scan the photos.

My father was a Sgt. in the Communications section of the 418th.  I found several pictures of him on  the website photos of the 100th BG:  On page 7, the first picture: on page 21 the second to last picture; and on page 20 the group picture of all the men in the Communication Section.  ( On my father's group picture of the men in the Communication Section, I found that he listed the first and last names and the state where each of the men were from.)  I really enjoyed seeing the pictures and reading about the experiences of  the pilots and crew members on the website.  Some of the pictures from my Dad were on the website and I was glad to learn the names, since not all my father's pictures were labeled on the back.



Well, again thank you for responding and I will get that disc to you as soon as possible.  I appreciate all that you do in rememberance of the men who fought in the Eighth AAF 100BG.
