According to Gale Cleven, Bob Kaiser was origianal cadre with the 350th BS, 100th BG.  He had a pilots rating but suffered severe migrain headaches. Maj Cleven said that Lt Kaiser flew a few missions but we have not been able to locate which ones.   He served as assistant operations officer with the 350th BS under Capt. Richard A. Carey and then under Lt Mark Carnell after Capt Carey was shot down on July 25, 1943 over Kiel.  He served in this capacity until October 1943 when he accompanied Maj William Veal to 13th Combat Wing HQ (situated at Horham airfield) under Gen Huglin.  Ironically, Bob Kaiser took the job at Wing that was offered to Maj. Cleven but he turned down.  According to Buck, he could not see himself as a desk jockey.
