351st Armament Officer. Harry Cruver remembers Gene as a "caring soul" who went out of his way to perform acts of kindness for his friends. When Harry (Cruver) was assigned to Wiesbaden, Germany, in 1951, Gene, who was serving in the Pentagon, worked to make sure that Harry's family was able to join him for Christmas. In the early 1960s, Gene acted as the Pentagon's Director of the Reading Improvement Clinic for Air Force Officers. "He was my good friend and comrade. We shall miss him always!" says Harry. Gene spent six months in and out of the hospital before his wife of forty-eight years, Virginia, made the difficult decision to let him rest. "God blessed me as he died in my arms," she wrote in June. Gale "Bucky" Cleven was a pall bearer at the funeral service. (Harry F. Cruver)

My name is Gary Andersen and I have been searching for information regarding my father's WW2 service. I have a photo of him in the 351st Ordinance Section that is a duplicate on the one depicted in the 100th Bomb Group Foundation web site: https://100thbg.com/index.php?option=com_bombgrp&view=personnel&id=2903&Itemid=334 On the back of the photo he had written all the names of those in the unit which somewhat corresponds to those names listed below the photo on your site. My father is third from the left standing. I have attached a typed copy of the names as written by him. I hope this will be of interest to the Foundation.
