In Lt Col John Bennett's book "Letters from England" he mentions a Lt Pete Biddick who filled in as a pilot on Crew 41 on the Novemeber 16th 1943 mission to Rjukan, Norway to bomb the German Heavy water plant. Lt Col Bennett had asked Biddick to fill in on a crew because he was a pilot short for the mission and told Pete this would be a "Milk Run". Just as they reached Norway, Lt Biddick's plane was hit by flak from German Patrol boats. He left formation with No 3 engine smoking and dropped his bombs in the North Sea. He then feathered No 3 engine and headed for Scotland. He landed safely in Scotland. His co-pilot reported that all Pete had to say about the mission was "Milk Run!--those dirty bastards"
