Finally getting around to this......................my name is Mark Goleb. My Uncle Sigmund (Siggy) Sierminski is the mechanic (on right side) of a picture that you have of him and some other fellows standing by their plane named "The All American Girl". In that picture you have him listed merely as "Sierminski". My family and his two remaining brothers and  sisters would be grateful if you would change the caption using his full name, Sigmund Sierminski. He was born in Daggett, Michigan, and raised in Chicago; later he lived out his life in Chicago, Illinois. For part of his war years, he was stationed in England, not sure what airfield, but as my mom tells me he was a chief mechanic for several planes.



        Uncle Siggy died sometime ago, about the year 2000 I think. As a certainty I'll ask mom about the date.



Also, she has a big scrapbook that contains many pictures of his plane(s), the bomber group, one or two pictures are aerial photos ( I think went along on a mission, I am just guessing); there are his patches, letters that are both to and from friends in the bomb group; and "report cards" certifying him in the B17 maintenance schools that he was trained in. One memorable photo shows the sky overhead filled with bombers headed off to roust the germans.
