Bennett William Fors, Sr. 

Beloved husband of Pearl Tadich Fors, Bennett Fors, age 90, passed from this world on November 19, 2014. He was born on January 9, 1924 in Tacoma to Per William Fors. Following graduation from Lincoln High School he entered the United States Army Air Corps in 1942, where he served with the 100th Bomb Group, and 349th Bomber Squadron based at RAF Thorpe Abbotts, England. Following his military service he returned to Tacoma and began a career at Sears Roebuck and Co., where he met and married his wife of 67 years, Pearl Tadich. They wed at St. Patrick's Parish in 1947 where he became a lifelong member. Always one to be involved, Ben was a founding board member and coach for NORTAC Soccer Club, a member of the Slavonian American Benevolent Society, and member of Teamsters Local 599, where he served as President from 1957 until his retirement from Sears in 1986. Whether he was responding to the name Big Daddy, Big Ben, Red Grandpa, or Papa Ben, he relished his family which brought him the utmost in joy. He also enjoyed his garden, cruising, camping, his dogs, and watching Jeopardy. Ben is survived by his wife Pearl, children Susan, William (Stephanie), Laurie Horn, Bennett Jr. (Kelly), and Carol Miller (John), and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church. The family would also like to thank the caregivers at Allenmore Hospital and Tacoma Lutheran Home for their gentle care. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at 11:00am at St. Patrick Catholic Church -
