My name is Guy Davis, my great uncle was Cpl Robert Lee Stewart, who served in the 100th BG, 351st as a ground crew.

 

I have been scanning all of the pictures in my family for a Geneology project and recently received Uncle Robert's photo album from WWII.  Many of the photos are from an airfield in England and have B-17's in them (E, Fs and Gs).  I knew he served, but didn't know where, so I started researching the aircraft in the photos.  This is what drew me to your site.

 

Anyway, thanks to you (And to these aircraft), I was able to identify which squadron and group Uncle Robert was in.  He passed away quite some time ago (in 1988), and I have only sketchy memories of him at best and certainly no memories about his time in WWII.

 

I identified a few of the aircraft in the photos (Some were just nose pictures with no identifying marks):

Douglas Robinson, Auburn, Washington

Roger J. Dittman, Midvale, Utah

John J Parmenter, East Orange, New Jersey

 

I know that Uncle Robert is the lanky fellow standing in the center.  I do not know for sure who the other guys are.  I actually have that exact photo (In better condition, I might add) with their names written on the back, including Parmenter's actual street address in NJ.

 

It'll take me a while to process the photos, but I'd be happy to share them with you. I'd love it if you could help me identify locations and people as you come across them, of course! :D
