Memo 1:
Part of the original cadre of the 100th Bomb Group from 1942. Stevens worked in carpentry and sheet metal for the 351st Bomb Squadron, and was known for his memorable nose art that appeared on multiple aircraft such as King Bee, Mason and Dixon, Holy Terror, Katie, Our Gal Sal, Nine Little Yanks and a Jerk, Humpty Dumpty, Piccadilly Lily, Fools Rush In, and others. Stevens left Thorpe Abbotts in circa January 1945 due to an unspecified illness and he was discharged in July 1945. Stevens worked as a sign painter before the war, and he returned to that profession after he was discharged.
