Hi Chris,
I went through the 100th BG Foundation database for the Ron Cumming crew,351st Bomb Squadron and have at least one good crew member to contact.
William C. Wheeler, the waist gunner on the crew.
This address should be good for him since he paid his Foundation dues for the newsletter SPLASHER SIX in the past two years.
WILLIAM C. WHEELER
1338 INNSBRUCK CT
WINTER HAVEN,FLORIDA 33884
PHONE 813-783-1990 (NOTE--sometimes the phone area codes change suddenly if you have a problem with the number, since members don't always advise us to a change)
The officers and enlisted men were not to hang out with each other but many times crews didn't follow that order.i.e. My dad John J. O'Leary the WG/Armorer on the crew was very friendly with the pilot on his crew 1st Lt. W. Griswold "Gris" Smith,349th BS and they kept in touch after the war)
We have nothing in the database for Clifford Baer, the TTE...Isaac Golden.a WG...Alistair A. Young, the TG...
Ron Cumming died 3/31/05 and I just checked with social security and it looks like Emile T. Giard, the BTG died recently 18 NOV,2010,the other crew are deceased as noted in the TAPS section database. I just checked on Delon since we were not aware or notified he died. SSDI has him Born 14 DEC,1923---Died 25 Sept,2005.
I am the website message board administrator so I'll post his TAPS listing on the website and include it in the next issue of SPLASHER SIX to the editor.
You might want to consider joining for a year just to get the four quarterly newsletters that run 25 pages or so. They are GREAT,it's cheap to join as well. We have a reunion planned for this year in Cleveland in Sept,2011. Check out the REUNIONS pages on the website for some past photos and details on them. Nothing like being around 100th BG veterans and their families at the reunions!
