Hello!

Thank you for responding so quickly!  I have forwarded this to my brother since all our dad's stuff was spread out through his large family and then given to us as the years have gone by! He might also have some pictures and patches for you to look at.

I think the name of Dad's plane was S-Sugar. That is what was written on the back of his picture. The insignia on his jacket was Rising Beauty.  I have no records of missions or anything like that. I know the other members of my family don't either. 

You probably think it is strange that after all these years I am showing in interest in my father's military history.  I never really thought a lot about it until now. He never talked about it when we were growing up and when we all got older he had already died. He was dianosed with cancer when he was 45 and died at 50.  I was diagnosed 4 yrs. ago and am going through it again and am going to turn 50!  So...I have been thinking about my dad a lot lately. 

Thank you so much for Mr. Gibbons phone number. I haven't had a chance to call him yet, but will try soon. I will also make copies of the photographs and get them to you as soon as I can.  I would love to see pictures of my dad on your website!!!! I think my family would get a real kick out of seeing it, also!!

MESSAGE: Looking for more information and have pictures on my father, the late Bernard L. Hanger.  He joined the 8th USAAF in 1945, was with the 3rd Bombardment Div., 13th Combat Bombardment Wing, 100th Bombardment Group, 350th Bombardment Squadrom Crew (I think)!!  I have pictures and patches but not sure about how I can help you with some of your updates.  I can't seem to verify much so maybe I should get a hold of the historian, instead. I have plane and crew pictures, pictures of crashed airplanes, pictures of planes dropping bombs on Germany, barracks pictures, and some pictures of John Gibbons.  It seems my dad was buddies with him...or maybe he just got his picture but my dad is also in the picture.  I can't seem to find names of his other buddies.  I would like to contact them to see if they are still alive. Is there anymore information you would like from me...have I given you too much...not enough? Thanks for your time!
