350th Sqdn Crew,as above, Joined 100th Group on 28/10/44, according
to George F. Holser, 220 Coronado Drive, Aptos, CA 95003 (1983)

George Holser later flew as Navigator on the William J. Wilson, Jr. crew, this data from the personal diary of Robert E. Fitzgerald, the Bombardier on the Wilson crew. Fitzgerald reports that Hoser came overseas to the 100th as a gunner after having washed out of Navigation school. Apparently the 350th Squadron commander, Arthur "Bucky" Elton, colorful and somewhat of a maverick in his own right, saw fit to right the error the Stateside Training Command had surely made in washing one of his people out of Navigation school. In any case Bucky assigned Holser to the Wilson crew as it;s Navigator. pw
