Michigan lost another true American Hero yesterday with the passing of Stephan J Koszednar of Romulus, MI. Mr. Koszednar was a WWII US Army Air Forces Veteran serving with the 418th Bomb Squadron ~ 100th Bomber Group (Heavy).



Clayton M. Seaman 418th Squadron December 13, 2018

Clayton was Radio Operator Gunner on the Thomas Carley crew, first arriving at Thorpe Abbotts on November 13, 1944.  The crew went on to complete 35 missions, most flown in Duffy’s Tuffys, including the December 31, 1944 Hamburg mission when the 100th BG lost 12 planes and their crews. Their final mission was on April 3, 1945 to Kiel. After his service in the 8th AF, Clayton continued with service in the 6th AF in Panama where he was assigned to Air Sea Rescue.

Poughkeepsie, New York - Clayton M. Seaman, 94, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the Lutheran Care Center. 



Born in Poughkeepsie, NY on June 28, 1924, he was the son of the late Frank and Martha Eichner Seaman. 



Clayton was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School. He served in the United States Air Force. He was in the 8th Air Force, stationed in England with the 100th bomb group as a radio operator-gunner on a B-17. He completed 35 missions. He then went to the 6th Air Force, Panama, where he was in Air-sea Rescue. 



Clayton had worked for Central Hudson Gas & Electric as a meter reader, was a Deputy Sheriff for 25 years and for R Stuff Crafts. 



On July 14, 1985 he married Mary Ann Carney in Poughkeepsie and she survives him at home. 



Clayton was a life member of the VFW Post 170 in Poughkeepsie, member of the American Legion #1302, life member of Poughkeepsie Elks #275 and the Hyde Park AARP chapter 4561. Additionally, he was a life member of the D. C. Pistol Association and he enjoyed crafts. Clayton also volunteered at St. Francis Hospital and was a past Scout Master for troop 30. 



Clayton is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, and his children; David Seaman (Katherine) of Parker, CO, Noreen Seaman of Aiken, SC., Paul Seaman of LaGrange, their mother Irene Bush and grandson Justin Seaman, his step-children Joey Sutka (Katherine) of Stone Ridge, NY, Cathy Feasel (Robert) of Highland and Kim Etts of Poughkeepsie, NY. Also surviving are his grandchildren Samantha Secor, Jeffrey Secor, Jessica Etts and Taylor Johnson.



The Family would like to thank the Staff at Lutheran Care for the care that was given to Clayton and they ask that donations be made to Hospice 374 Violet Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12601



Calling hours will be held Tuesday December 18, 2018 from 5pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. The Funeral Service will be 11am Wednesday December 19, 2018 at the Funeral Home with Burial to follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery Mausoleum.
