On 31/12/44, Lt Robert Washington,from the crew of A.S.Spear,was flying as navigator and
became a POW. A Sgt James R.Shirley was flying as TOG/NG. James R Shirley (34645311) 9/9/44 1st assignment 711 squadron 447 BG at Rattlesden. On Nov 7 he was transferred to 350th BS in 100th and was a POW. S/Sgt Francis R.Chase from Lt Hansen Crew, was aboard as TG and was KIA.
Both Roy Little and Francis Chase are commemorated on the Wall Of The Missing at the
Netherlands cemetary.

December 31, 1944, was assigned to Capt Glenn Rojohn Crew as a fill in Toggelier and became a POW after Rojohn and MacNab a/c’s pancaked. He was sent to Stalag luft III and later Nurnburg.

Now usually before a person was sent to a POW camp, they were interrogated at the Dulag Luft in Frankfurt. (not far from Wetzlar) yet no mention in the list of places. Is there anything in his diary since he was in Wetzlar for 23 days.
