350TH SQDN.. CREW, AS ABOVE JOINED THE 100TH ON 15 JUN 1944..

CREW WAS ON A PRACTICE MISSION AND LIKELY HAD NOT FLOWN A COMBAT MISSION.
MACR #6993, Microfiche #2530.. LAST SEEN ABOUT FIVE MILES OFF GREAT YARMOUTH AT 17,000 FT. TOWERING CUMULOUS COVERING 8/10 OF SKY.

Fate of this aircraft and crew are not determined - All ten crewmen are listed on the Wall of the Missing at Cambridge It is presumed the aircraft crashed into the sea, carrying it's crew to the bottom. As a general rule at least some crew members were rescued or at least some bodies were recovered from the water.

On April 28, 2000 I received a photo of Stanly P. Siders from his sister Elizabeth (Siders) Edinger. She had even less info on what happened to her brother but we have speculated that German fighters probably jumped the aircraft in the clouds and shot it down before any radio transmission could be made or the pilot suffered vertigo. The demise of this plane and crew was very swift and lethal. (Michael Faley)
