Deceased Name: Burnell L. Hambleton

May 9, 1922 -- Jan 9, 1998 Burnell "Ike" Leslie Hambleton, 75, of Modesto died Friday at Central California Rehabilitation Hospital.

Mr. Hambleton was a native of Woodland. He moved to Modesto in 1956. He was a supervisor for Pacific Telephone for 43 years. He was a member of Telephone Pioneers. He was a member of Centenary Methodist Church. He served in the Air Force during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy J. Hambleton of Modesto; children, Donna Mueller of Placerville and Loma Hyder of Collierville, Tenn.; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Private burial will be at Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel.
