Joseph F. Boyle, ROG on the Robert L. Hughes crew, KIA 5 NOV 43. This is the wedding photo of Joseph Boyle to Margret O'Donnell. Joseph Boyle told his best friend Horace E. Barnum Jr while in the war that if something happens to him as if killed as he was, to promise to take care of his wife, my grandmother, after he was gone . Well years later after Joe was KIA, Margret O'Donnell Boyle and Horace Barnum married ( see photo at bottom of page). Like I said these three could have been put in a novel/book of WW2 stories. German Propaganda Leaflet from 1944. Powerful family image with the AAF airman. Unclear on distribution methods used by the Nazis, but it was fired for sure into Anzio by German artillery in 1944. (Courtesy of Jack O'Leary)
