Ruptured Duck Patch and Pin. The Ruptured Duck was a patch the serviceman was given when discharged from the service that allows him/her to wear the uniform for a period of time, travel, etc. and it was sewn on. They were also issued a metal lapel pin with the Eagle aka Ruptured Duck on it showing they were veterans. (Courtesy of Jack O'Leary)
