KIA 25-2-1944 as co-pilot of B-17F / #42-30788 / LN-'R'/ 'Mismalovin' / MACR 2802. Target Fuerth, Germany. Hit by flak after bombing target knocking out an engine. The a/c became a stragler and was attacked by fighters. Crashed in the Channel off Sangatte/Calais, France. 8 KIA/2 POW.
Lt McBride is buried in Normandy Cemetery, A-11-8.
