Lauren Kolbert That was my Mimi (Grandmother), Mary Lou Burgin. They met at Fair Park in Dallas when he was stationed in TX for training. Her cousin whistled and he thought it was her. They married 04/08/1943 and John W. Burgin deployed in May.

Lt Rosine Crew: "Got to Do It" 42-102934 LN-W, for a mission July 11, 1944 to Munich-Damaged by flak over Munich, Lt Rosine returned with one engine out and force landed into a field near Little Bently after running out of gas. Crew was ok, plane was salvaged.

"My Darling.... you have never in your life seen anything like this invasion. There is a steady stream of boats crossing the channel in fact there is no end to them it seems. ... I have never seen so many aircraft in my life..." Lt. John S. Giles, Jr. to his wife Odette after return from D-Day mission. That day his crew flew 42-31049 "Superstitious Aloysious". Later they become to be lead crew and flew almost the entire tour almost to the finish, before being shot down on the Ruhland mission on Septemebr 11th, 1944, while leading the fateful low squadron.
