Thank you for the add, Simon! My father, Lt. John Bockhorst, was a B-17 pilot with the Bloody Hundredth Bombardment Group (Heavy) and a member of the 350th squadron. He flew 26 combat missions over Nazi Germany and FEH (flying at end of hostilities). Here's a photo of my dad with his flight crew standing in front of their quarters. He's in the back row, second from the left. Dad painted the sign "Poobah Palace" using a few Q-Tips and a cup of whitewash. My dad is going to turn 98 years old in two weeks.
