I was saddened to learn a few minutes ago that we lost 100th Bomb Group veteran Ralph J. Kalberloh today. Ralph was a great guy, and he served as a tail gunner in the 350th Bomb Sqdn. Ralph was shot down on his very first combat mission on February 3, 1945 (to Berlin) and he was held as a POW for the remainder of the war. Ralph was very active in the post-war era in helping support POW issues and he regularly gave talks about his POW experiences to school groups and civic organizations. For his efforts, Ralph was recently recognized by the Governor of Missouri. God bless you Ralph, and sincere condolences to Barb Kalberloh and the Kalberloh family.
