I present to you my latest commissioned pencil drawing.
Boeing B-17F 42-3233 "Our Baby".
350th Bomb Squadron, 100th Bomb Group.
The scene shows the last moments of this Flying Fortress returning from a bombing raid on Bremen on 8/10/1943.
The entire crew survived (11 Prisoner of War):
1st Lt Bernard A. De Marco
Major Gale W. "Buck" Cleven
F/O James P. Thayer
1st Lt John W. Downs
2nd Lt Francis C. Harper
T/Sgt Benjamin J. Barr
Cpl Jerome E. Ferroggiaro
Cpl Thornton Stringfellow
S/Sgt William J. Williams
S/Sgt Harry C. Calhoun
William R. Woodbury.
I have no knowledge of the exact damage to the plane, I relied on information found on the Internet and on my artistic vision of the scene presented.
