Another 100th BG Fort. 258 was a late arrival to Thorpe Abbotts and only flew four combat missions (15, 16, 17, and 20 April 1945). She did fly four food missions and four POW missions. Ended her days in the boneyard. 1/72nd Hasegawa basically out of the box. Tail number and ID letter are dry transfer, the "Square D" is masked and painted in all three positions, fuselage codes are from Kitsworld. Insignia came from an Eagle Strike sheet. Full late war markings with the green nose band and prop hubs, black diagonal stripes on the wings (upper right, lower left), and the black rudder. Karl Hauffe

Hasegawa 1/72nd B-17F done as 42-30088, XR*E, 349th Bomb Squadron, 100th BG. "Squawkin' Hawk" was an original cadre aircraft and her original crew flew 12 missions in this bird. The crew was in another airplane for their thirteenth when one was KIA and two so severely wounded that they never flew again. While 088 went on to fly 50 missions (it was the first from the 100th to do so), I have shown her with 12 missions that the Reeder crew completed together... Karl Hauffe
