My latest tribute build. Randy Holliday
100th Bomb Group, 418th Bomb Squadron, AC 44-8680 named "Hurri-Kane". Tribute build for Clem Crowley, son of SSgt. Vincent J. Crowley, who flew 33 missions as the tail gunner on the crew led by Lt. Gerald F. Kane. Misssons Dec. 1944- April 1945.
This build has roots back to Clem's first inquiry inJuly 2019. The figure nose art was a major roadblock. Gave up once in late 2019 after all attempts at art failed. Resurrected the build once pandemic lockdown took over, and an online freelancer site gave Clem and I the art that is finally on this build.
Revell 1:48 kit. I staggered the waist windows (first time ever, not quite perfect but...) Aftermarket stuff includes MasterModels gun barrels, Squadron nose and radio room window, Verlinden Cheyenne tail conversion and a couple other bits from that set, select Flightpath PE details, and home done decals for "Hurri-Kane" name, figure, manufacturing stencil, Square Ds, tail AC X designator and serial number.
Scratch built the wishbone and GEE antenna on the nose.
Diorama display base going along to Clem as well.
Many thanks to Clem for his amazing patience with this. First time back on the 1:48 kit in about 4 years. — with Clem Crowley.

Michael Faley, well, design for decals Jaroslav have from me. Because Jaroslav is part of our Museum.... So a member of our large family as well. This was Jack C. Moore´s ship, lost 12 May 1944. First B-17 and first 8th AF airplane and crew to be lost on Czechoslovak territory. Jack was our good friend for years, also as his daughter Wanda.
