Comments
According to Lt Engel, the crew was flying Squawkin Hawk II on the Sept 6, 1943 mission to Stuttgart and this was a G model. Still have not been able to identify by serial number and codes Squawking Hawk II. Lt Engel also said that Squawkin Hawk had bulletproof glass installed in the pilot's compartment. So had they flown Squwakin Hawk on Sept 6, 1943, they would not have experienced this amount of damage.
